GOLD SHIMMER: NOT JUST FOR THE BODY
As we head into the final stretch of summer, this is the moment when GOLD SHIMMER really comes into its own.
It brings light and warmth to the skin, makes a tan look beautifully illuminated and gives the body that polished, finished quality we usually associate with a very good holiday—or a professional makeup artist.
But GOLD SHIMMER isn’t only a body product. I use it on the face, underneath makeup and even around the eyes. It’s one of those products that can quietly do several different jobs, depending on where and how you apply it.
Here are some of my favourite professional ways to use it.

Designed with red carpet skin in mind, Gold Shimmer is a glossy solid oil that melts into the skin and catches the light in all the right places. The warm gold tone adds depth and richness, giving skin a sunlit, sculpted glow that looks smooth, radiant and expensive.
Formulated with almond oil, sunflower oil, grapeseed oil, shea butter and hyaluronic acid to help keep skin soft, nourished and moisturised, with vitamin E to support and protect the skin.
Use as you would a highlighter or body oil. Swipe directly onto skin and blend into the high points of the body — collarbones, shoulders, arms, legs — or anywhere you want to catch the light. Can also be used lightly on the face for added glow.

TO ILLUMINATE A TAN
GOLD SHIMMER looks particularly beautiful over tanned skin—whether your tan is real, fake or beginning to fade.
The warm, light-reflecting finish brings dimension back to the skin and helps a tan look more luminous and even. Swipe it directly over the areas where the light would naturally land: the collarbones, shoulders, arms, shins and the fronts of the legs.
You can leave it bold and glossy or blend it with your hands for a softer finish. Because it’s a solid stick, you have complete control over where the product goes. There’s no pouring, dripping or trying to stop an oil from running down your arm before you’ve had time to blend it.
This is skin finishing at its simplest: a few strategic swipes and the whole body looks more polished.
THE UNDEREYE TRICK THE PRO’S USE
My friend and esteemed makeup artist Lotstar taught me to use GOLD SHIMMER over concealer underneath the eyes, and it has been a game changer.
Apply your concealer as usual, then take a tiny amount of GOLD SHIMMER and gently tap it over the area with your fingertip. You don’t need very much. The aim isn’t to create an obviously shimmery undereye; it’s to bring back the light that can sometimes disappear when we add coverage.
This is especially lovely if your undereye area is dry or more mature, or if the skin looks dull or dark. Rather than continuing to add more concealer—which can start to look heavy—the Gold helps reflect light and gives the area a fresher, more alive finish.
The important thing is to use a very small amount and tap rather than rub. You want to preserve the concealer underneath while pressing the Gold lightly into the skin.
It’s such a simple technique, but it can completely change the way the undereye looks.
AS AN ILLUMINATING PRIMER
GOLD SHIMMER also works beautifully underneath makeup.
I particularly love using it across the cheeks before I begin the rest of the complexion. Swipe onto the high points and apples of the cheeks. blend it into the skin with your fingers, a brush or a sponge. Then apply your foundation or skin tint over the top.
Placing it underneath your base softens the shimmer and allows the light to come through the makeup, rather than sitting on top of it. The result is less like a traditional powder highlighter and more like naturally luminous skin.
If the skin is looking tired or flat, this is a very quick way to bring it back to life before you’ve even started applying makeup. This technique is particularly good on dry or mature skins that may need a little extra help.
It also works well on the brow bone, the temples or the centre of the eyelids—anywhere you want the skin to catch the light.
TO FINISH THE BODY
There is a difference between moisturising the body and finishing it.
Moisturiser takes care of the skin. A finishing product decides how you want that skin to look.
GOLD SHIMMER is designed for that final step: the moment after you’re dressed—or just before—when you look at the exposed areas of the body and decide where they need a little more light, warmth or polish.
For an evening out, I love it across the collarbones and shoulders. If you’re wearing a short dress or skirt, swipe it along the shins and down the centre of the legs. On holiday, use it on the arms, chest and anywhere the sun naturally catches the skin.
You don’t need to cover every inch. Strategic placement is what makes the finish look modern and intentional.
The formula gives a high-shine, editorial finish and doesn’t completely dry down, so treat it as you would a body gloss: apply it where you want maximum impact and be mindful around delicate fabrics.
PREP FIRST, SHINE SECOND
Light-reflecting products always look their best on properly prepared skin.
Before applying GOLD SHIMMER to the body, I like to use a PROSHINE COTTON SCRUB TOWEL over areas that tend to feel dry or uneven—particularly the shins, knees, elbows, upper arms and around the ankles.
The towels are made from biodegradable cotton-bamboo and come pre-soaked with skincare, including shea butter, oat bran extract, cucumber extract and retinol. There is no need to add water and no need to rinse. Simply take one out, use the textured side to quickly polish the skin and follow with GOLD SHIMMER.
This combination removes the dry, dull surface that can interrupt the light and leaves the skin ready for its finishing step.
It’s fast, effective and particularly useful when you’re getting ready to go out, packing for a weekend away or trying to make the last traces of a summer tan look their absolute best.
